CBD: An Energy Boost!

Our body's endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex neurochemical network that regulates many functions including mood, appetite, memory, discomfort, relaxation, sleep, and even immune responses. It's components include Endocannabinoids (Naturally produced by our bodies to regulate these functions) and Endocannabinoids Receptors (Which Endocannbinoids bind to in order to signal). A disregulated ECS has been observed to be aided by Cannabinoids, which are active elements of the Cannabis Sativa plant (From which CBD is produced). CBD has been observed to support a healthy endocannabinoid system (ECS), improving regulation of bodily functions, and allowing for a more balanced internal condition.

One crucial process that the ECS regulates is our sleep/wake cycle. The brain's hypothalamus which governs the circadian rhythm of our sleep-wake cycle is enriched with cannabinoid receptors. When CBD is introduced into the system, it provides the body with an extra boost to regulate the ECS, encouraging our bodies to flow smoothly through the Sleep - Wake Cycle. A benefit of this would be an increase in energy levels in the body during waking hours and ease in rest during sleep hours. One may also note that CBD and the amount of its dosage may affect people differently, allowing some experience a more pronounced energy boost while others may experience a stronger relaxing effect. CBD is a great substitute or even an alternate to caffeinated beverages (Which are usually accompanied with an energy crash later on in the day).
